It has one limitation in this regard - only 32-bit plug-ins are recognized, but the inexpensive jbridge utility can handle the 64-bit to 32-bit conversion for you. You can use VSTs, VSTis, DXes, and DXis with both BiaB and RealBand. Plus, BiaB comes with another, entirely different program called Real Band, which is a full-fledged DAW, intended primarily for working with audio files - but it can handle MIDI as well as BiaB native files.
BiaB handles MIDI files easily and once they've been converted over to BiaB format, there's a lot that can be done with them.
Any Alternative suggestions for 'Easy MIDI' editing via a double click from windows explorer would be most appreciated. To remind myself how easy it was for performer such as I, who still uses midi and a Roland SD5 Sound Module for live gigs,to double click in windows explorer and the midi file in all it's multi track glory would simply open and play through CW Sonar and outputting to the sound module effortlessly. and surprise surprise (WELL NOT REALLY) it works fine with yesterday's unsolicited & substantial Windows 10 Update.
